Fire Extinguishers & Kitchen Industrial Systems

Along with providing excellent service in the Sprinkler & Alarm Industry, we offer testing, maintenance and the installation of Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Industrial Systems.

Fire Extinguishers:

There are four types of fire extinguishers that are most common and all are used on specific fires.

Class A Extinguishers will put out fires such as wood and paper.

Class B Extinguishers should be used on fires with flammable liquids, such as grease, oil and gasoline.

Class C Extinguishers are to be used on electrical fires.

Class D Extinguishers are for use on flamable metals.

Multi-Class Ratings

Dry Chemical extinguishers are usually rated for multiple purpose use. They contain an extinguishing agent and use a compressed, non-flammable gas as a propellant.

Halon extinguishers contain a gas that interrupts the chemical reaction that takes place when fuels burn. These types of extinguishers are often used to protect valuable electrical equipment since they leave no residue to clean up.

Water extinguishers contain water and compressed gas and should only be used on Class A (ordinary combustibles) fires.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) extinguishers are most effective on Class B and C (liquids and electrical) fires. The carbon dioxide is stored as a compressed liquid in the extinguisher; as it expands, it cools the surrounding air.

You can protect lives and property simply by taking advantage of our scheduled maintenance program. In most cases portable fire extinguishers are tested annually. All fire extinguishers are installed and maintained in accordance with NFPA #10.

Kitchen Hood Systems:

Did you know that most fires in restaurants are grease related and preventable with regular maintenance?

Kitchen Hood Systems are a way to prevent duct fires. Wet chemical based fire suppression systems are designed to work well in modern commercial kitchens.

Maintenance and regular testing of kitchen hoods is critical in order to ensure that the systems operate properly in the event of a fire. Take advantage of our scheduled maintenance program. Hood systems are tested semi-annually. All installation and maintenance is done in accordance with NFPA #17a.
